6th Christmas DanceComp 2019

On 15th December we hosted the 6th Annual Christmas DanceComp in National Basketball Arena, Tallaght. Once again it was a hugely successful event with so many exciting visitors on the day.

We would like to thank all the DFI schools for supporting the competition especially as it was so close to Christmas: – Cork DanceSport Academy, DanceTones, Definition Dance, Dance in Motion, Dance Addicts, GC School of Dance, Kaloian Ivanov Team – Bulgaria 🇧🇬, KB School of Dance, LoveDancing, Pasja Koszalin – Poland 🇵🇱, Ruth Quinn Dance, Salomé Ferreira Team – Portugal 🇵🇹 , SEBA International Dance Academy, Viva School of Dance, Xquisite Dance, 10 Dance Academy.

We received over 300 entries with a day of extremely high quality dancing from all ages and levels.

Thank you to our judges for your time on the day, we were honored to have you with us: Sergiu Luca, Kaloian Ivanov, Monika Zamorska, Salomé Ferreira, Breda Kelly Lynch.

During the day we held a flag bearing parade to celebrate all the different nationalities who now dance in Ireland under the DanceSport Federation of Ireland – it’s wonderful to see such a culture mix in our DanceSport community and we hope it will continue for years to come.

Congratulations to all WPDA dancers, especially all those who had their first competition experience – it’s scary to get out there in front of everyone but you all did great.  Well done Eli, Adele, Amelia K, Mia, Amelia O, Ava, Lena, Arabella, Issac, Laura T, Laura McG, Leighanne, Niamh, Katherine.

We would like to send a special message to our two A Class Juveniles: Sinead Doyle and Katherine Pavlov  as they move into Junior division next year.

We are expecting great things from these girls in the future, they are beautiful young ladies who are looked up to by so many of younger dancers.  High heels and sparkles at the ready !

Mr Claus himself visited on the day and we was helped by 2 very special WPDA elves – Sandra & Claire who I think is fair to say stole the show on the day.  Congratulation ladies on winning our Christmas outfit competition of a weekend to Limerick sponsored by Maldron Hotels.

 

Special welcome to the Potaszkin Family who came to support the school  – the kids loved meeting Papa Potaszkin and we hope they will all visit again really soon.

Now we look forward to our school Christmas party followed by a well earned break for a few weeks but we will be back with a bang in 2020 with lots of new adventures.
