Marking the end of a very busy international competitive season for our dancers, team WPDA travelled to the sunny town of Catania on the island of Sicily (Italy) over the weekend of June 25-26, 2022 to compete in the ‘Sicily Dance Trophy 2022’ organised by Mr. Alfredo Sgroi.
A weekend well spent on the Mediterranean island of Sicily, our dancers, parents and Wojtek enjoyed a fine balance of top-class dancing as well as time to relax and enjoy the warm sunshine. We had dancers represent WPDA across all age groups from Minors to Seniors and Wojtek was invited to adjudicate at the competition. A busy weekend indeed!

Day 1 of the competition saw the Evening Gala take place and included our Juvenile and Junior couples competing in some of their events. Day 2 comprised of both solo and couple events, with all of Team WPDA competing in events through the day.
Shout out to all our dancers, parents and teachers – we know it’s not easy to make things work all the time, but you always make it happen and we appreciate you!

Needless to say it was a long and tiring weekend with a number of great results for our dancers!

And what’s an international dance trip without some lighter moments shared with friends and colleagues?

Thank you to Mr. Alfredo for inviting WPDA to participate in this competition and of course to Wojtek for facilitating this wonderful opportunity.
Kudos to all of the Academy for completing a successful competitive season – onward to the next one!
