Planes, Trains and Dancing…….was the order of the day when some of our team travelled to take part in the first London Open hosted by LondonDanceNights.
Team WPDA
This new competition was a first for us and will not be the last as we enjoyed a fantastic event with respect to both dancing and the hospitality extended to us.
L-R: Gemma, Nicole, Olivia, Sinead, Filip, Lauren, Amelia
Our team had a great day of results beating very strong dancers from all over the world with a public commentary from the Chairman – “Ireland is taking it all home“
- Sinead Doyle winning all U16 and U19 events,
- Filip & Olivia winning all Juvenile couple events,
- Amelia Banasik winning U12 Ballroom, 4th U12 Latin,
- Gemma O’Brien winning U14 Ballroom and U14 Latin,
- Lauren 2nd U14 Ballroom, 7th U14 Latin,
- Nicole 3rd U14 Ballroom, 4th U14 Latin.

Wojtek Potaszkin enjoyed his adjudicating experience also and would like to extend a thanks for the invitation to event organiser Marius Iepure.
After the competition our team took part in workshops hosted by Oti Mabuse, Marius Iepure and Kristina Rihanoff where they worked on Samba, Salsa and Tango. These were brilliant workshops and our team really enjoyed them.

We would like to thank the team from DanceNights London who went out of their way to make this event enjoyable. The 24hours of being awake and traveling was all worthwhile, and of course we had some fun along the way with plenty of strictly photo opportunities which our dancers loved.
We look forward to next year already.
For now, we prepare for our own competition – The Dance Comp 2022 which will be bigger and better than ever.
