Christmas DanceComp 2017

The 4th annual Christmas DanceComp hosted by our school was held over the weekend and from start to finish it was an amazing event.

This spectacular event held in the National Basketball Arena, Dublin was a showcase for hosting one of the largest competitions in the country. Over 370 dancers competed across all levels and 1000 spectators enjoyed the day and evening.

As always our students showcased their immense talents throughout the event and we were very impressed with the results with lots of trophies and medals secured.

Each and every one of our couples danced superbly and all of them reached a final in their event which is a super achievement for them all and something that as their teacher was an extremely satisfying level to reach.

Under 8’s
Justin Plesca & Erika Calin (2nd place U8), QiQi Yu & Lilly Kearns  (1st place U6 & 4th place U8) and Austin Choo & Madison Jones (6th place U8).

Juvenile
Sinead Doyle and her partner (1st place Juvenile 5 Dance Open Championship), Han Yu & Daniela Ceban (4th place Juvenile 3 Dance Open), Darius Ceban & Caoimhe Elliott (2nd place Juvenile Novice), Vanessa Pojoga & Katherine Pavlov (2nd place All-Girls Juvenile), Hannah Rowe & Beau McGowan (3rd place All-Girls Juvenile).

Our new couple Sebastian Calin & Avah Wall reached the finals of the Juvenile Open events which was a great level since this was their first Irish competition to compete in and finally Aleksander Marciniak & Alicja Morgan reached the semi-finals in both Latin and Ballroom Juvenile Open events – a great achievement for them!

Juniors
Sean Doyle & Megan Elliott (3rd place in Junior2 5 Dance Open Championship). Sean and Megan danced through very tough rounds to reach the finals and were awarded a podium finish for their brilliant Latin display.

This was the first competition for this year’s new beginners and it was great to see how confident they all performed.

We also had a very special surprise guest – Santa Clause, he had been conducting a practice sleigh run over the Dublin area and he heard the excitement coming from the area so he thought he would drop in and greet all the boys and girls.

So as another year comes close to the end, we can look back proudly and say this was the most successful year for our dance school reaching many milestones and targets. This may have been the last competition of 2017 but our training and practice still goes on each and every day to maintain levels and give us the edge in 2018.
